Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking an experienced accounting professional with a background in banking and public accounting to join an established financial institution in southern Mississippi.  The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop 4 person accounting department
  • Develop and maintain necessary reporting through core financial and reporting software
  • Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets to enhance accuracy of reporting and ease of review for presentation
  • Monthly, quarterly and year-end reconciliation of all financials and preparation of associated reporting
  • Manage investment portfolio, including adding enhancements and opportunities for growth
  • Manage participation accounting
  • Participate in various management committees, developing and maintaining necessary reporting
  • Primary liaison for external auditors and examiners
  • Manage all aspects of accounting department:
    • Depreciation schedule
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Accounts Payable
    • Account Reconciliations
    • Payroll

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
  • CPA certificate a plus
  • Highest level Excel skills
  • 5 or more years of related experience
  • Prior Banking (accounting) experience
  • Audit experience
  • Experience with FiServ’s Portico platform a plus.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
