Warren Averett Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Tax & Compliance Specialist to join an established company in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have strong experience federal, state, and local taxes. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Company with its management and compliance for Federal, State and Local taxes
  • Manage sales & use tax reporting and compliance efforts
  • Manage contractor’s licenses for the company
  • Research tax & licensing issues and communicate findings with management
  • Manage property tax filings
  • Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
  • Assist with financial statement, tax, and other audits as necessary
  • Assist with special projects as necessary

Requirements

  • BS degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Minimum 4-7 years’ experience
  • Experience with federal, state and local taxes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office Suite
