Warren Averett Staffing & Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer that will lead the design of natural gas distribution, transmission pipeline facilities, measurement stations, and regulator stations. Responsible for planning and /or executing advanced project elements of design, such as modeling, planning, designing, drafting, materials evaluation, field work, technical writing and assisting project managers and/or technical experts with other tasks within the project lifecycle. Responsible for being subject matter experts in needed areas.


  • Mentor design engineer staff and provide peer feedback respectfully
  • During design phase, anticipate solutions to issues that may arise during a project lifecycle
  • Be key contributor of quality control review team, assuring compliance of all designs
  • Ability to produce complex P&ID and develop basic electrical plans and wiring diagrams
  • Develop/present sound solutions during project execution and communicate effectively to beginners and experts
  • Represent company at industry associations and client events


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited educational institution required (Civil or Mechanical is preferred)
  • Natural gas pipeline experience is preferred
  • Engineer Intern (EIT) is preferred
  • Ability to use computer applications and functions including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and various CAD programs (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D)
  • Ability to communicate with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to discuss project elements internally/externally regarding client and/or regulatory agencies
  • Ability to accurately perform in a detail-oriented environment, under minimal supervision
  • Ability to compile/review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, and construction package completeness, while balancing numerous projects with competing priorities
  • Exposure to core project types preferred, (e.g., modeling, HDD Design, M&R Design, As-built (steel), SCADA/Electrical design, O&M manuals, route study, linear, bare steel/cast iron replacement, and hydrostatic pressure testing).
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed to meet project deadlines.
