Warren Averett Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a qualified Pipeline Compliance Engineer for a client in downtown Houston.  The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience.


  • Responsible for the review and approval of critical pipeline records used to support the MAOP established for all Regulated Natural Gas Pipelines.
  • Responsible for assembling and maintaining a fully electronic, records management filing system.
  • Responsible for facilitating the review of MAOP Change Requests and their submission for final approval.
  • Responsible for conducting Change In Class Location (MAOP) validation studies, final determinations and the provision of recommendations for Corrective Action to assure the pipeline is operating per regulation.
  • Responsible for scheduling and conducting Change In Class Location stakeholder meetings, presenting final determinations, and gaining required approvals on any Corrective Action.
  • Responsible for coordinating required data transfer and providing support to Operations and Field Engineering or Gas Integrity during the life cycle of a Corrective Action and ensuring all required records are obtained at project end to support the established operating pressure.
  • Responsible for supplying pipeline data to the Asset Integrity Group for insertion into the Company's Central Asset Database (PODS) and performing quality control to ensure the data has been entered correctly.
  • Responsible for supplying MAOP changes to the Class Location group for Natural Gas Transmission pipelines and the change effect on the Potential Impact Radius for establishing High Consequence Areas.
  • Responsible for providing State and Federal audit and inspection support to Pipeline Compliance, Gas/Liquid Integrity and Operations associated to MAOP.
  • Responsible for DOT Class Location (All Gas Pipelines) and High Consequence Area (Gas Transmission Pipelines) determinations as required by State and Federal regulations.
  • Responsible for the annual update of all Company and Departmental manuals, standards, specification, procedures, forms, etc. as related to MAOP.
  • Responsible for providing and maintaining perpetual, weekly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual Pipeline Compliance related tasks, goals, costs, scheduling and tracking updates


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.5 or better   
  • The ability to read pipeline construction related record materials, such as alignment sheets, pressure tests, MTR’s, BOM’s/BOL’s, etc.
  • Exceptional typing, organizational, attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, possess excellent communications skills, adaptive to dealing with diverse situations, non-abrasive in demanding situations, and have working experience in public meeting settings
  • A detailed understanding of all Microsoft Office applications with a heavy emphasis in Excel
  • The ability to travel up to 25% domestically as needed
  • The ability to walk up stairs (valve sites, compressor stations, pump stations, etc.), and withstand being outdoors for extended time.
