Warren Averett Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to join an established bank located in Tuscaloosa, AL. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of loan officer or sales experience.


  • Responsible for originating high quality FHA/VA and/or Conventional loans and developing business contacts by selling the Bank's loan products and services to meet the needs of our client base
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining client referral relationships with realtors, builders, and developers and to make sales calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business
  • Responsible for the overall customer interaction and interface with all parties involved on each loan that is originated from application to closing
  • Interviews applicants and analyzes customers' financial status and earnings to determine most appropriate mortgage loan program
  • Provides advice and service to applicants requesting mortgage loan information
  • Negotiates terms and conditions of loans
  • Represents the bank in the community and at real estate industry functions to identify, develop and promote additional business
  • Maintains awareness of new trends and developments in the local and national real estate market to provide feedback to management
  • Advise management of new products offered in the market to ensure the bank remains competitive.
  • Cross-sells bank products
  • Ensures lending compliance with all origination procedures including bank and/or regulatory procedures, policies and/or requirements. 


  • Bachelor's level degree is preferred or equivalent experience. 
  • 3-5 years of loan officer experience or sales experience with demonstrated potential to transfer skills to mortgage origination. 
  • Working knowledge of standard loan products in the industry and strong familiarity with underwriting guidelines.
