Warren Averett Staffing & Recruiting is seeking a Legal Secretary for an established law firm in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a legal secretary.

Responsibilities

  • Produces information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics
  • Drafts and revises legal documents and correspondence
  • Assists the attorneys by reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports and legal documents; collecting and analyzing information; coordinating preparation of charts, graphs, and other necessary visuals
  • Initiates telecommunications; organizing client conferences, and attorney meetings;
  • Maintains attorney calendars by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, dispositions, and travel
  • Review real estate and loan documents
  • Oversee signature conferences for closings
  • Complete title and survey review
  • Assemble final documents for closing
  • Prepare closing transcripts
  • Review closing/lender checklists and assist attorneys with fulfillment of closing requirements
  • Represents attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments
  • Generates revenue by documenting and inputting attorney billable time and reimbursable expenses; preparing invoices; tracking payments
  • Prepares binders of legal documents; updates database of client data

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years previous related experience
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
