Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is currently seeking an Information Security Officer for a client in Birmingham, AL. The Information Security Officer will coordinate all activities and resources related to Information Security.


  • Develops the overall Information Security Infrastructure, Policies and Procedures
  • Reviews, designs, and oversees implementation of security protocols and practices for all software applications within the company’s’ environment
  • Develops and implements security requirements into the application life cycle
  • Enhances the project management methodology to ensure security is involved in all phases of the development process
  • Increases security awareness and accountability with our business and application development partners
  • Works with third party service providers to ensure acquired solutions and services meet Company’s’ security requirements
  • Responsible for relationship management with the Business Units and other areas of Technology
  • Performs general management duties, exercising authority concerning staff, performance appraisals and terminations
  • Establishes department goals and objectives in accordance with company policies


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Seven years of relevant experience of which five years must be in application security or software development
  • Relevant, information security experience

  • Information Security Architecture Principals and Secure Coding Practices
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Must have demonstrated business acumen with the ability to interact with senior management across the organization
  • Must also be able to manage multiple priorities
