Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to assist with the development and maintenance of principles, practices and procedures to ensure the accurate and timely presentation of the financial statements of a large company in North Alabama.  The ideal candidate will need to have 5 years of experience in all aspects of accounting (G/L preparation, Financial Reporting, Year End Audit Preparation, Budgeting and Forecasting, etc…)


  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Confirms financial status by monitoring revenues, expenses; co-ordination of the collection, consolidation and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports
  • Maintains accounting controls by establishing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Ensures all compliance related activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities
  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
  • Monitors and analyzes general ledger related activities to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation (federal, state & local tax), enforcing accounting regulations, improving and implementing new procedures to ensure full compliance with regulations
  • Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Finance Manager, MIS Manager and entity wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like
  • Works with the CFO to ensure clean and timely quarter-end and year-end financial audits and internal audits
  • Assists in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Provides training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Supports CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements


  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
  • CPA, preferred
  • Five to seven years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
  • Experience with SAP, implementation and/or configuration a plus
  • Prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area preferred
  • Financial management experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Audit experience in one of the major public accounting firms is highly desirable
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
