Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join one of the oldest law firms in Montgomery.  The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of experience and be familiar with the accounting of a law firm.

Responsibilities

  • Management of general ledger and trust accounting systems
  • Coordinate with management to prepare for monthly financial and operation review meetings
  • Maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results
    • Responsible for management of:
      • Billings
      • Accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
      • Process payroll in a timely manner
      • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed, timely
      • Provide financial analyses as needed
      • Proper allocations among various entities
  • Coordinate with external CPA group for compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Define and document processes and procedures to promote uniform reporting
  • Assist in vendor management
  • Perform additional research and special projects as needed

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • 10 + years of  accounting experience
  • Individual needs to be a self-starter and able to work independently 
  • Expert proficiency with Excel
  • Exposure to Tabs G/L package preferred
