Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking an experienced accounting professional for a growing company in Birmingham, AL.  The ideal candidate will be self motivated and have more than 10 years of experience corporate accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Coordinate with management to prepare for monthly financial and operation review meetings
  • Maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results
    • Responsible for management of:
      • Cash and risk management
      • Accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing functions
      • Process payroll in a timely manner
      • Ensure that reconciliations are completed, timely
      • Monitor KPIs
      • Assist with Cash Flow Projections and month end planning
      • Provide financial analysis, monthly, to review and recommend efficiencies to ensure the success of the company
      • 401k plan
      • Oversee the HR functions for the company
  • Coordinate with external CPA group for compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Define and document processes and procedures to promote uniform reporting
  • Assist in vendor management
  • Perform additional research and special projects as needed

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • 10 + years of  accounting experience
  • Individual needs to be a self-starter and able to work independently in an open concept office 
  • Strong analytical mindset to identify issues and proper resolutions
  • Experience and proven track record working with a company in “high growth” mode
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Suite and experience with Quickbooks
