Warren Averett Staffing & Recruiting is seeking an experienced Buyer to join a growing company in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in one or more areas, but will also have the flexibility and desire to learn and develop new expertise based on the company’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization
  • Qualify vendors, evaluate bids, and negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services
  • Track purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintain a current database of vendor information
  • Review bill of material (BOM) requirements and production schedule to ensure orders are placed in a timely manner to support production

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Construction buying experience preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Experience developing systems where they are needed and do not currently exist
  • Strong computer skills (technically proficient)
