Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is working with a well-known group in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area to add a permanent Accounting Supervisor to their team.  The ideal candidate will supervise the workflow of staff accountants to work through the corporation’s financial reporting and closing processes.

Responsibilities

  • World-wide consolidation of financial reporting to ensure the reported financial statements are accurate in accordance with US GAAP & the Company’s uniform accounting principles by reviewing the financials results as submitted monthly by individual countries/subsidiaries & partnering with the local subsidiary’s Finance Director and their accounting teams.
  • Handle monthly variance analysis for the various assigned subsidiaries
  • Help complete the monthly consolidation process
  • Records/Posts top level journal entries where necessary and appropriate and performs routine monthly close procedures assigned by manager
  • Presents assigned subsidiaries monthly & quarterly financial results to executive management
  • Review of other team members monthly work papers
  • Ensures appropriate documentation of monthly data and analysis
  • Fraud Detection testing through journal entry testing, onsite balance sheet reviews & substantive testing in addition to support of external and internal audit by providing reports, analysis and explanations as requested
  • Handles issues affecting daily performance, communicating with other departments and outside sources as required to resolve issues.
  • Provides upper management and other departments with accurate, timely, and useful communications, including reports and analysis to enable them to make appropriate decisions.
  • Oversees the documentation of departmental policies and procedures and supervises activities to ensure the policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensures that staff productivity is monitored and maintained at an acceptable level such that work is completed accurately, procedures are followed and deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in public (Big 4) experience OR 5+ years of industry experience
  • Masters preferred
  • CPA, CFE or CIA preferred
