Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking and experienced accounting professional for a new company in Nashville, TN.  The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of experience in the construction/real estate industry.


  • Lead the development of the Accounting Function for a new corporate office.  This will include:
    • Selection of and implementation of General Ledger Accounting software
    • Creation and maintenance of annual budget, monthly and annual financial statements, account reconciliations, monthly close process and contract status report
  • Coordinate with management to prepare for monthly financial and operation review by performing weekly variance analysis
  • Set up and maintain an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results
    • Responsible for cash management and risk management for multiple entities
    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
    • Supervise/process payroll in a timely manner
    • Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed, timely
    • Provide financial analyses, monthly, to ensure all obligations are accounted for
  • Coordinate with external CPA group for compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Coordinate with project managers, property managers, operations and administration to ensure that projects are within budgets
  • Define and document processes and procedures to promote uniform reporting
  • Maintain development accounting, including:
    • Monitoring and managing construction budgets, payments, collecting waivers of liens, working with banks,etc. 
  • Perform additional research and special projects as needed


  • BS in Accounting
  • 15 + years of  accounting experience in the construction and/or multi-family industries
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Suite with exposure to multiple General Ledger packages (Timberline or Yardi would be beneficial)
  • Candidates must be hands on, independent problem solvers who can manage the financial status and day to day operations of the business
