Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join an established construction company in North Alabama.  The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Coordinate with management to prepare for monthly financial and operation review meetings
  • Maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results
    • Responsible for management of:
      • Cash and risk management
      • Accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing functions
      • Process payroll in a timely manner
      • Ensure that reconciliations are completed, timely
      • Provide financial analysis, as needed
      • Simple Retirement Plan
      • Maintenance of an accurate Contract Status Report
  • Coordinate with external CPA group for compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Define and document processes and procedures to promote uniform reporting
  • Assist in vendor management
  • Perform additional research and special projects as needed
  • Assist around the office as needed

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting
  • 5 + years of  accounting experience
  • Individual needs to be a self-starter and able to work independently 
  • Previous work in the construction industry, preferred
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Suite and previous work with Quickbooks, preferred
