Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is working with a well-known group in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area to add a permanent Distributed Systems Support Manager to their team.  The ideal candidate will manage the distributed infrastructure environment designs and give 24/7 support for international locations.  You will also have the opportunity to create test plans and maintenance requirements of all system software and storage.

Responsibilities 

  • Provide technical support to protect application SLAs and the team’s ability to deliver strategic projects on time and on budget
  • Assist in establishing and documenting root cause observation while collaborating with fellow supervisors, managers and other IT teams to ensure consistent and integrated execution of processes and handoffs.
  • Ensure that IT operational standards (i.e. security, governance or other standard), processes and procedures are followed and accurately executed
  • Adherence to SDLC development and development documentation requirements
  • Collaborate with Business Users to understand business impacts, ensure accuracy in gathering requirements and prioritizing business needs
  • Contributes to the long-term effectiveness and success of the organization by participating with peers in the development, evaluation, and execution of operating and strategic plans and keeping the leadership team apprised of industry changes and advancements.
  • Stay up to date with new trends and products to facilitate improvement in technical support for the purpose of implementing key initiatives.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, assigns, and evaluates the activities of the Distributed Systems Solutions staff; sets work priorities, performs informal and formal evaluations and provides professional growth opportunities.
  • Disciplined in problem determination efforts, situation analysis and the ability to assist in establishing and documenting root cause observation.
  • Manages the deployment of new system hardware/software to ensure system stability and availability are maintained.
  • Manages small to complex projects, ensure system SLA's are met, and ensure that system enhancement designs support business processes
  • Supervises project managers and delivers small to medium size projects with increasing levels of complexity (in technology, scope, delivery method, etc.)
  • Responsible for team staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • Experience with systems integration with SAP R3 is preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in business application design, development, installation, and modification in an online environment.
  • Expert knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in mainframe, midrange, and PC computing environments essential with in-depth experience in more than one is critical.
  • Expert knowledge of project management techniques is required (cross-functional experience is highly desirable).
  • Experience with structured design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures.
  • Experience with supporting SQL 2000/2005/2008 infrastructure.
  • Experience with supporting SCOM/SCCM environments.
  • Experience in supporting Citrix with multiple locations/countries.
  • Experience with contract management.
  • Experience with Microsoft and Cloud based environments
  • 3 to 5 years of overseeing direct reports
